Our clinicians help thousands of people lose weight, lower their blood pressure and A1c, and take fewer medications. Here's what our data shows, and how we keep care safe and high-quality at scale.
Most clinicians went into medicine to change patients' lives, not to race through 15-minute visits. Cardiometabolic care is where that gap hurts most. Obesity affects more than 40% of US adults, and it often comes with hypertension, diabetes, and fatty liver disease. Yet there aren't enough specialists to meet the need.
At 9amHealth, we built a different model. Our clinicians deliver evidence-based obesity and cardiometabolic care virtually, through a combination of synchronous and asynchronous consults. That means more touchpoints with each patient, more time for clinical thinking, and results you can see in the data.
Asynchronous consults at 9amHealth are not simply chart review and advice. Our technology-enabled clinical platform provides you with the details you need to make a safe, effective clinical decision efficiently and with confidence. That means presenting you with recent labs, vital signs, medical history, a summary of recent Care Team conversations, and the recommended next steps based on our evidence-based clinical guidelines.
We study our own results and share them to build credibility with our patients, our clients, and our internal teams. Two recent analyses, presented as scientific posters, show what our clinicians achieve over 12 months.
Weight loss and cardiometabolic improvement (n=5,230)
Patients averaged about 10 provider consults a year, and 95% of consults were asynchronous.
Results held across every treatment path. That means you can tailor care to each patient, and feel confident that non-GLP-1 treatment paths deliver highly effective outcomes.
Medication burden (n=663)
In an employer-sponsored cohort, patients on cardiometabolic medications at baseline filled fewer of them after a year: from 1.58 to 1.14 on average. Total medications filled dropped from 3.71 to 3.11. Patients who stepped down medications still improved, with systolic BP down 5.0 mmHg, A1c down 0.35 points, and body weight down 13.9%. Results were consistent with or without GLP-1 use.
For clinicians, this is satisfying and high-value work: thoughtful deprescribing as patients get healthier, making medication regimens simpler and safer.
Asynchronous doesn't mean hands-off. Frequent touchpoints mean our clinicians spot side effects, lab changes, and red flags early, often sooner than they would between quarterly in-person visits.
Great outcomes come from a culture of clinical accountability and learning. Every clinician at 9amHealth is part of it.
