9amHealth checks your medical eligibility when you sign up for our services. Employees and their adult dependents (18+) may qualify for weight management support through 9amHealth. Here’s how eligibility works today–and what’s changing in 2026.

Current eligibility (through December 31, 2025)

• You’ve worked at Amazon for at least 90 days*
• You have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 35 or higher* and two or more of the following conditions:
  • Prediabetes
  • High blood pressure (Hypertension)
  • High cholesterol (Dyslipidemia)
  • Obstructive sleep apnea
  • Cardiovascular disease
  • Metabolic associated liver dysfunction

OR

• You have a BMI of 27 or higher with one of the following heart diseases:
  • Stroke
  • Heart attack
  • Peripheral artery disease

Expanded eligibility (beginning January 1, 2026)

• You can start using your benefit right away–no waiting period.
• If you meet the medical criteria below, you may qualify for 9amHealth starting on Day 1.
  • You have a BMI of 30 or higher to receive lifestyle management support.
  • If your lab results show elevated metabolic risk, you may receive additional support, including a personalized care plan from a specialist and medications if needed (excluding GLP-1s). 

OR 

You have a BMI of 35 or higher and two or more of the following conditions, and you may be eligible to receive GLP-1 medications in addition to other services.

• Prediabetes
• High blood pressure (Hypertension)
• High cholesterol (Dyslipidemia)
• Obstructive sleep apnea
• Cardiovascular disease
• Metabolic associated liver dysfunction

OR

You have a BMI of 27 or higher with heart disease:

• Stroke Heart attack
• Peripheral artery disease

*Members already established on therapy may qualify if their BMI was 35 or higher prior to initiation of therapy. 

Our toolkit includes FDA-approved branded and generic medications for prediabetes, obesity, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. Based on your medical history, lab tests, and insurance coverage, our Care Team will determine if medication is appropriate and which medication is most effective for you. We can also help navigate insurance approvals.

9amHealth is available at no cost to eligible members and may include the following:

• Prescriptions as needed

• Nutrition & fitness coaching 
• Pre and post-bariatric surgery guidance and referrals
• Behavioral health support and referrals

Copays and cost-shares for medications, lab tests, devices, bariatric surgery, and behavioral health support may apply.

Absolutely! You don't need to stop visiting with your current primary care provider. In fact, we're more than happy to work with them. At 9amHealth, we prioritize connecting with your existing provider and can send summary reports whenever your 9amHealth Care Team updates your treatment plan. This ensures that your care remains seamless and well-coordinated, with all parties working together for your well-being.
