It’s easy to slip into old habits when stress or emotions hit, but small visual and mental cues can help you stay on track. Here’s how to set yourself up for success:

Print the "Yield" Sign:

At the end of this module, you’ll find a printable "Yield" sign. Print it out and place it somewhere visible. This sign is a reminder to pause—just like a real yield sign on the road—so you can slow down and check in with yourself before reacting.

  • On your fridge or pantry door

  • In your workspace

  • Near your phone or other high-traffic spots

Create a Personal Mantra:

Write a short phrase or one-sentence mantra that keeps your goals top of mind. Keep your mantra visible or repeat it to yourself whenever you feel triggered. Examples:

  • “Pause, then choose.”

  • “I listen to my body first.”

  • Progress not Perfection.”

Use These Cues to Check In:

These reminders aren’t about restriction—they’re about building awareness. When you notice the Yield sign or say your mantra:

  • Take a breath

  • Ask yourself: “Am I truly hungry, or is this stress, boredom, or emotion?”

  • Choose your next action intentionally

With time, these simple tools can help you respond in ways that align with your health and well-being goals.
