How to ensure a smooth prescription renewal
To qualify for your next refill, you must complete a few requirements before your prescription can be renewed.
Refill requirements
For each refill, please complete the following:
- Complete 1 module (once all modules are completed, 1 program activity is needed instead)
- Log 1 weight value (must be within the last 14 days)
- Complete your refill check-in
- Keep your labs up to date
To check your current status and see what’s left to complete, tap the medication card on your home screen. Keep in mind that only achievements of the past 30 days are taken into account.
Completing educational modules
The 9amHealth educational journeys are designed to support long-term success through self-guided weekly modules that help you build sustainable lifestyle habits alongside your medication treatment. Completing 2 modules is required for each refill period. Keep in mind that a module expires after 30 days, and new modules of the Healthy Weight Journey unlock 7 days after completion. Once you have completed all your available modules, 2 program activities are counted instead.
Completing program activities
Medications can help with weight management, but studies show that long-term weight loss is most successful when combined with sustainable lifestyle changes. So engage with your program consistently. That’s why we ask you to engage with your program consistently. This includes, for example, completing open tasks, scheduling virtual meetings, reviewing articles, and interacting with your Care Team.
Program activities are:
- Logging a weight value
- Creating or completing a meal plan
- Uploading a photo of your food and generating a meal insight
- Reading an article
- Completing a lab test
- Reviewing your labs or vitals in the Charts
- Logging a vital value (other than weight)
- Scheduling or completing an appointment
- Answering a questionnaire (if available)
- Sending or reading messages with your Care Team
What is the refill check-in?
The refill check-in is a short survey available as a task on your home screen. It helps your Care Team evaluate how you’re doing on your current dose and whether any adjustments may be needed.
The refill check-in becomes available 13 days before your refill is due.
If you get your prescription from an outside provider
If your GLP-1 prescription is managed by a provider outside of 9amHealth, you are not required to:
- Complete lab work through 9amHealth
- Submit a refill check-in
Your outside provider is responsible for ensuring safe prescribing and ongoing monitoring.
Keeping your labs up to date
Up-to-date lab work helps your Care Team monitor your health, track your progress, and ensure your treatment plan and medications remain safe and effective. Your Care Team will let you know in advance when lab work is required. Labs may need to be repeated every 3, 6, or 12 months, depending on the test and your health.
