Can I use my insurance to cover 9amHealth?

If you are covered by the plans listed below, you may be eligible for care and coverage of the 9amHealth membership fee as part of your benefits. We cannot guarantee eligibility. Additionally, if your insurance covers your medications, copays may apply.

How much does 9amHealth cost?

The 9amHealth membership is $149 per month, and if you have insurance, it might be covered completely. However, the first month's fee is not covered by insurance and is non-refundable. Medication costs may vary based on your insurance plan, and copays may apply.

How do labs work?
Based on your medical history, our Care Team will recommend a lab draw. If available in your area, we can schedule a home draw. Alternatively we will find the nearest Patient Service Center and will help you to schedule your appointment. Lab results are securely being sent back to 9amHealth, and our Care Team will review them with you. 
Why do I need to sign up for a monthly membership if I only need a prescription?

Our monthly membership is designed to ensure we provide comprehensive and personalized care. While you may initially need a prescription, our Care Team will follow up with you regularly to monitor your health and adjust dosages as necessary. A recent study from Blue Health Intelligence notes that some 58% of patients discontinue GLP-1 medications within 12 weeks because they didn't see the results they expected. We'll help create a treatment plan including medications you need to succeed long-term. Other ongoing care could involve ongoing lab tests or other medical evaluations. Continuous care is crucial in managing conditions like obesity effectively. By signing up for a monthly membership, you're investing in whole-body care beyond just a prescription.
How will I receive my medications?

Prescriptions are sent to your home or preferred pharmacy. For refills, contact our Care Team.
Does 9amHealth prescribe medications for weight loss?

Based on your medical history, lab tests, and insurance coverage, our Care Team will determine which medications are appropriate and most effective for you. For members who qualify for weight loss medications, our toolkit includes branded medications such as GLP-1 receptor agonists (Wegovy, Zepbound) and generic medications approved by the FDA. We can help navigate insurance approvals.

  • For GLP-1 medications approved for weight loss (Wegovy, Zepbound, Saxenda), you must meet specific diagnostic criteria such as a BMI greater than 30 or greater than 27 with co-conditions.
  • If you qualify for and are prescribed Zepbound for obesity or excess weight with weight-related medical problems, there are two options: the Zepbound Autoinjector and Zepbound Vials. Our Care Team will help you understand the difference between each option, including out-of-pocket cost considerations based on your insurance coverage.
